Administrative Assistant (Contract)

Role overview

The Waterfront Employers of British Columbia (WEBC) is looking for an energetic office support worker with exceptional administrative skills and a team focussed attitude who is looking for part-time work (4 hours per day) on a 12 month contract to January 31, 2024. This position has the potential for additional hours over the term of the position.

The Administrative Assistant will support WEBC team members in the delivery of pension and benefits services to the longshore workforce, and gain exposure to the thriving maritime industry in BC. Reporting to the Manager, Benefits Administration, the Administrative Assistant will work in a fast-paced office environment to support the team with general administrative duties.

Detail Oriented: You are highly organized and comfortable managing many tasks and high-volume processes to ensure claims include all necessary documentation.

Trusted Team Member: You are a self-starter who is able to work independently and who sees the value of collaboration and creating an environment where the pension and benefits team can be successful together.

Key accountabilities

The Administrative Assistant will support both the Pension and Benefits team, with administrative tasks, including (but not limited to) mail processing, document scanning and electronic filing, as well as special projects.


  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Previous experience in office administration
  • Part-time five (5) days per week (4 hours per day) during regular business hours
