Where do I submit my claim?

The process for submitting pharmacy benefit claims is changing.

Starting January 1, 2024, GreenShield will be our new prescription drug claims administrator.

For prescription drug claims on or before December 31, 2023

Continue to submit claims the same way you do now to Canada Life

If you have a prescription drug expense at the pharmacy on or before December 31, 2023· Present your existing Canada Life drug card to your prescription drug provider.

· If you’re submitting a paper claim, complete a Canada Life claim form and mail it to Canada Life at the address on the claim form.

· If you have questions about your prescription drug coverage or claim/claim status for expenses taking place on or before December 31, 2023, please call Canada Life at
1-800-957-9777.

When you need to submit 2023 expenses but it’s become 2024· You have up to February 29, 2024, to submit claims for expenses made in the previous calendar year.

· You have access up to December 31, 2023 to submit claims electronically through MYCANADALIFEATWORK, after which paper claims can be submitted up to February 29, 2024.

· That means if your prescription drug expense was made on or before December 31, 2023, you must submit it to Canada Life before February 29, 2024, for reimbursement.

For prescription drug claims on or after January 1, 2024

Start submitting your prescription drug claims to GreenShield: present your new WEBC-GreenShield drug card or provide your GreenShield ID to your prescription drug provider. 

If you don’t have your new WEBC-GreenShield drug card with you or you pay out-of-pocket for the expense· Submit a claim online with GreenShield and receive faster reimbursement once your eligible claim/expense is approved.

· You can also drop off a GreenShield claim form in person to WEBC or mail it to GreenShield at the address listed on the form.

· If you have questions about your prescription drug coverage or claim status for expenses on or after January 1, 2024, please call GreenShield at (604) 689-7184 (Option #2) to speak directly with a GS agent, Monday through Friday (4:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. PST).

For extended health care and dental care expensesYou can continue to submit health care and dental care expenses to WEBC for reimbursement in the same way you do today. 

If you don’t have your new WEBC-GreenShield drug card with you, or you can’t find it (we get it, it happens)

  • All you need to do is tell your pharmacist or prescription drug provider that you have coverage with GreenShield and provide them with:
  • Your personal identification; and
  • Your GreenShield ID.

This number always starts with WTR (HINT: it’s short for “water”), followed by your Waterfront Employee number (i.e., your Man number).

Example:

If your Waterfront Employee number (i.e., your Man number) is 12345, your GreenShield ID is WTR12345.
